Two-start pitchers

Two-start pitchers are ranked on the combined projected value of both outings, since two starts against difficult opponents can be worth less than one good matchup.

Why two starts are not always worth more

This page lists pitchers scheduled to start twice in the coming week, ranked on the combined projected value of both outings rather than on the fact of having two starts.

Two starts are usually worth more than one, but not always. Two difficult matchups, or two short outings, can be worth less than one good start, and in leagues that count ratios a poor outing can do real damage. Ranking on the combined value of both starts is what separates the two-start pitchers worth using from the ones that only look appealing.

Use it when setting a weekly lineup and when choosing pickups for a week with a light schedule. Rotations change, so confirm a pitcher’s second start is still scheduled before committing to it.
