NFL usage leaders

Players ranked on opportunity rather than production: snaps, routes, targets and air yards, the volume behind fantasy points.

How usage is measured

Usage Leaders ranks players on opportunity rather than production: the share of his team's offensive snaps a player was on the field for, the share of pass plays on which he ran a route, his share of targets and of air yards, his average depth of target and his targets in the red zone.

Opportunity is the largest single source of error in a fantasy projection. A player's points can swing with a few long plays, but his role tends to persist, which is why the volume behind the points deserves as much attention as the points themselves.

The season covered is named in the table's heading; week-to-week changes in role this season are tracked on the usage trends and stat movers pages.
