NFL red zone and goal line usage

Scoring-position opportunity for the season to date, where touchdown equity lives independently of total volume.

How red-zone usage is measured

This page measures scoring-position opportunity for the season to date: each player's red-zone and goal-line opportunities, his share of his team's, his carries and targets inside the twenty, his touchdowns, and how many touchdowns he has scored per opportunity.

Touchdowns carry a large share of fantasy value, and red-zone and goal-line work moves independently of total volume, so a player with modest yardage can still hold real touchdown equity while a high-volume player who disappears near the goal line can disappoint.

Over a handful of games touchdowns per opportunity can swing widely, which is why the share columns sit beside it as the steadier read of a player's role close to the end zone.
