Schedule strength

Schedule strength scores upcoming matchups on opponent quality and park effects, week by week — the input behind streaming and two-start decisions.

How to use schedule strength

Schedule strength scores each team’s upcoming opponents by quality, week by week, including the effect of the ballparks those games are played in. It is the input behind streaming and weekly start decisions.

A difficult week does not make a good player a bench option, but at the margins, between two similar starters or when choosing a streamer, the opponent is often the deciding factor. The effect is largest for pitchers facing strong lineups and for hitters playing in parks that suppress offence.

Look ahead as well as at this week. Knowing which teams have an easy stretch coming lets you add a player before the matchups improve rather than after everyone else has noticed.
