Buy low candidates

Buy-low candidates are players where the projection and the market have come apart in the player's favour — underlying performance the surface stat line has not caught up to yet.

What makes a player a buy-low

Buy-low candidates are players the field is discounting: the projection and the market price have come apart in the player’s favour. Typically that is underlying performance the surface stat line has not caught up to yet, or a slump that has pushed the price down further than the forecast moved.

Read each player as a gap between two numbers, what the projection expects going forward and what the market is paying now. A large gap on a player with a thin sample deserves less trust than the same gap on an established one, so look at the track record behind the number as well as the size of the discount.

The practical use is timing. A buy-low is worth pursuing before the results turn, because once they do the price corrects and the edge is gone.
